Programs and Services

 MULTIDISCIPLINARY TEAM COORDINATION

Involving area law enforcement agencies, DHR, DA's Office, mental health counselors, forensic medical examinations, victim advocates, and juvenile probation personnel regularly meeting to coordinate case investigation, child and family intervention, and potential prosecution.  Forensic interviews and forensic evaluations of child victims of abuse are conducted by multidisciplinary team professionals who have been specifically trained for this function.

 PROFESSIONAL TRAINING SEMINARS

Continuing education programs have thus far been provided to the following professional groups:  social workers, licensed counselors, mental health professionals, attorneys, law enforcement officers and trainees, day care workers, foster parents, guardian ad litem, and others.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE (MAD) PROGRAM

Group based psychoeducational programming on emotional/anger management, character education and violence prevention. Provided multiple times per week to the Cullman City alternative school program students during the school year.

 CLINICAL COUNSELING AND ASSESSESSMENT

For victims, non-offending caregivers, and families.  These services also include family support and victim advocacy including needs assessment and referrals, court accompaniment, and on-going support throughout the life of the case.  We also provide counseling services to Cullman City School for mental health services as requested.

 JUVENILE SEX OFFENDER MANAGEMENT SEE OTHERS AS PEOPLE (J-SOAP)

An alternative sentencing / long-term outpatient treatment program providing intense therapeutic intervention conducted by individuals meeting State Department of Youth Services guidelines for treatment providers.  To include case management and supervision for all youth charged with a sex-based offense in Cullman County.  Collaborative works with professionals from other disciplines to assess current practices, develop interdisciplinary protocols, and implement a more comprehensive approach to juvenile sex offender supervision and management in our community.

COMMUNITY EDUCATION

Provide programs and speakers to professional, civic, church and community groups regarding family and children's issues and other topics.
